Hermione Thomson
textile artist
Hermione is a mixed media textile artist with over 25 years of experience working with textiles in both her creative practice and teaching career. Having an experimental approach to textiles, Hermione uses a myriad of processes and techniques in her works.
She often sources an array of found matter reflecting both her aesthetic plus her long serving attitude towards re use. Drawn to the beauty in worn surfaces that reflect the passage of time, Hermione’s works often have a material tactility with a reductive quality.
Hermione is based in Farnham and has a studio at Farnham Maltings. She also currently lectures at the University for the Creative Arts, as well as running bespoke textile workshops for various communities. Hermione has exhibited her works with established collectives at galleries in England and Japan.
